Happy 80th celebrations to Sadie McGowan
Happy 80th Birthday celebrations to Sadie McGowan last weekend. A big crowd gathered in Con Smiths Lounge last weekend. Family Sean and Bernie, Gerry and Hilary with kids Conor and Aine. Betty, Sadie's sister who will be 90 in July. Thanks to Agatha Smith for hosting the party, Ronan Flannigan and Fr John Gilhooly and everyone who turned up on the night.
Vincent receiving his Benemerenti Medal.
A special presentation was made to Vincent Fitzpatrick, Sacristan of St. Aidan's Church, Butlersbridge on Easter Sunday last. Bishop Leo presented Vincent with a Benemerenti Medal from Pope Benedict for his long standing and faithful service to the Church. Vincent is the third generation of his family to serve in this role. Since 1908 his Grandmother Kate O'Rourke served as Sacristan and his Mother Annie Fitzpatrick succeeded her in 1952. She then passed on the mantle to her son Vincent in 1990 who since then has been a loyal and faithful servant. Congratulations to Vincent on this very special occasion.

Bushcraft Weekend in the Woods of Mellifont Abbey
Camping out is not for everyone but if you want to rough it up and let the kids have good time this is great fun. We plan to go on another one of these weekends again so if anyone in the Bridge would like to tag along get in contact.
